FCL Staff Profiles

The Florence Crittenton League Staff are all parents, and one worker is an adoptive parent.

Ilze Keegan

Ilze Keegan
Executive Director

Ilze Keegan has worked for FCL for twenty years, twelve of them as Executive Director. Ilze earned her MSW from Boston University. Her previous work was with a family service agency and with a school for special needs children. Ilze was born in Latvia and came to the U.S. as a refugee after World War II, growing up in New Hampshire. She and her husband Larry have two grown sons. Ilze says that becoming a parent made her much more humble as a social worker dealing with other parents. Her goal is to keep FCL a friendly, personal agency that advocates for children. Her hobbies include knitting, quilting and folk music.

Jennifer Chen

Jennifer Chen
Caseworker

Jennifer Chen has been with the agency as a Caseworker since 1996. She received her M.S.W. from Boston University in 1990 but has had a variety of experience over the last twenty years or so in the Social Service field. Much of her work has been with special needs adults, teen parents and as a therapist with children and families. Jennifer was born in India and moved to Massachusetts when she was nine years old. She and her husband Stephen, have a six year old daughter, Lindsay Ming Xue, adopted from China through this agency. As a social worker, she has a unique perspective, having sat on both sides of the desk! Her greatest joy is being a parent (with all its ups and downs) and discovering the huge network of families out there who are connected to adoption. She chose to work at and adopt from Florence Crittenton League because of its small personal nature and the professionalism and camaraderie of the staff.
