Russia

We have been working in St. Petersburg, Russia since 1992, and have facilitators there to guide you through the adoption process. We have been able to send donations of food, money and medical supplies to help the orphanages. We are also working with Children's International Choice, who have programs in Stavropol, Smolensk, and Pskov. Both programs are registered under our accreditation in Russia.

  • Current Russian law forbids information or videos before your trip to Russia.

  • Couples make 2 trips - one to be introduced to your child, and one to go to court. You are able to take your child to the EuroMed clinic for an examination, and can take your own video or pictures to send back to the United States for consultation.

  • If you are offered a child you cannot accept (for medical reasons or a bonding issue), if you say no to the child, the Adoption Committee makes every effort to offer you another child.

  • The first trip requires 3 days in Russia. The second is a week or less. You go to court in St. Petersburg (or the town where your child is), then go to Moscow to get a visa through the United States Embassy before coming home.

  • Singles and couples are accepted. The children are 6 months old or older. The wait is 6 - 8 months from start of home study.
  • Facilitators help you through every step of the process.

  • For more information about current laws and practices, call our office.

Colombia

We work with FANA, an orphanage in Bogota, Colombia, which we have known for 30 years.

  • Couples have to be under 40 and married 3 years.

  • No singles are accepted.

  • A stay of 4-6 weeks for at least one parent may be necessary.

Ukraine

Ukraine laws allow you to travel and pick out a child. The trip is usually 2 weeks. You come back through Warsaw, Poland for the visa. Please call our office for more information.

China

We have worked with China since China opened for adoptions. Paperwork is sent to the Adoption Center in Beijing, and Beijing sends assignments of children from anywhere in China.

  • Couples have to be 30 years old or older. Anyone over 50 probably is assigned an older child.

  • The wait is 11 months generally from the time that Beijing gets your paperwork.

  • The trip is 2 weeks.

  • Generally, individual or small groups of families travel together. Translators and guides are provided to assist you.

Guatemala

We work with an attorney we have known for years.

  • Babies can be kept in foster care or private orphanages.

  • The wait is very short.

  • Children can be escorted.

  • It is a new program - please call for more information. Our waiting list is very short.

Identified Adoptions

Our agency is happy to do home studies for couples who are trying to locate a birth mother. We are not responsible advertising or locating a birth mother, but would be glad to do your home study. We also offer counseling for birth parents if they are in Massachusetts.

Out Of State Agency Adoptions

Florence Crittenton League is licensed to do Massachusetts home studies. For Massachusetts residents working with out of state agencies, we provide Massachusetts home studies.

We have worked with Small Miracles Agency in Oklahoma (for Guatemala adoptions), and El Paso Adoption Agency in Texas, as examples.

We try to assist adoptees who were adopted in this country and placed through our agency to do searches.

We provide birth parent counseling and one month of free foster care (to the birth parents) if they are undecided about plans for their baby.
